EXPLORE – Buckhorn

Buckhorn is a lively waterfront community at Lock 31 on the Trent–Severn Waterway, between Upper Buckhorn Lake and Lower Buckhorn Lake. Popular with boaters and visitors throughout the summer, the town offers clear waters, scenic views, and convenient access to restaurants, groceries, fuel, and supplies.

Just minutes from town, visitors can experience the rugged beauty of the Canadian Shield and its many rocky islands while still being close to great food, cold drinks, and fishing services. The surrounding lakes are known for excellent fishing, with species including bass, walleye, muskie, perch, crappie, bluegill, and carp.

One local attraction is the famous Adam and Eve rocks, a pair of glacier-shaped stones tied to a romantic legend that says couples who touch them while holding hands will enjoy lifelong blessings. Visitors entering town along County Road 28 will also spot Buckhorn’s well-known deer statue.

The waterfront is ideal for strolling, and the town offers a wide variety of dining options, from pizza and Chinese food to pub fare, ice cream, and popular breakfast spots. Every August, Buckhorn hosts the award-winning Buckhorn Festival of the Arts, featuring art, music, food, and local culture.

East of town, the small community of Burleigh Falls sits where County Road 36 meets Highway 28, serving as the gateway between Lovesick Lake and Stoney Lake. Visitors can enjoy waterfront dining and accommodations at Burleigh Falls Inn overlooking the falls.
