Resolve to Choose Local!

Another holiday season has come and gone; another (crazy) year has passed. A lot of plans in 2020 had to be cancelled or reimagined. Here’s hoping 2021 sees much less of that. No matter the year, the Kawartha Chamber of Commerce & Tourism is here to support our local businesses. It is the core of what we do, and we will continue to do so any way we can.

We encourage the community to Choose Local! Winter can be a tough time for business at the best of times so this winter will be even more challenging. To ensure our local businesses survive, be certain to maintain your support of them so come spring they can still provide jobs for your family and friends, support community initiatives, sponsor youth activities, contribute to a vibrant community and stimulate a healthy economy.

There are countless ways for consumers to Choose Local! When shopping online there are many local options making it safe and easy to support them. Many restaurants have pivoted this year and now offer curbside pickup or delivery. What’s better than a delicious meal you didn’t have to make yourself? Just visit KawarthaChamber.ca for a link to local online shopping options and restaurants offering delivery, curbside and/or takeout. With vacation plans postponed or cancelled, you can have a great escape at local accommodation providers and stay safe in your own region while ‘getting away’! We also suggest seeking out small town, rural businesses – those off the beaten path are often hidden gems. The Kawartha Chamber is a great resource for finding local businesses and services, don’t hesitate to contact us for referrals!
