Kawartha Lakes Soupfest is 20 for 2020!

They say in the seventh year you get the itch to change things up so that’s just what Soupfest organizers have done. Previously known as Lindsay Soupfest, this year they expanded the event to become Kawartha Lakes Soupfest and are excited to have 20 restaurants, caterers and a non-profit, from Lindsay, Fenelon Falls, Bobcaygeon and Kirkfield participating.

Since this event is a major fundraiser for the local chapter of Youth Unlimited, it was decided to have some of the talented local youth musicians provide the entertainment. To find these young performers Kawartha Kids Got Talent was created and youth up to age 21 were invited to audition back in January at the Boys and Girls Club for the opportunity to perform on stage at the event. A wonderful variety of musical acts with the youngest being just 7 years old have been practicing hard and attending rehearsals for the big day.

Guests who come to Soupfest will enjoy a sample of soup from each restaurant and will be given a ballot to vote for the Best Soup and Most Unique Soup. Celebrity judges will be on hand to vote for the Judges’ Choice and the winning restaurant in each category will receive beautiful new plaques to proudly display.

Soupfest is this Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at the Lindsay Armoury. Admission is just $10 per person, or a Family (2 Adults and 2 children 10 or under) is $25. Tickets are available at the door. Soups will be available from opening, entertainment will run all day and the event will finish off with the awards presentation.
